Delicious Meat Loaf



1 pound lean ground beef

1 pound of ground turkey

1/2 white onion diced

1 cup dried bread crumbs

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon basil

1 teaspoon oregano

1/2 teaspoon  pepper

For glaze

1/2 cup ketchup

2 Tbs brown sugar

1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

1 /2 Tbs of hot sauce


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9×13 pan.

In a large mixing bowl, knead together the ground beef, ground turkey, onion, bread crumbs, milk, egg, worcestershire sauce, salt, basil, oregano, pepper. Careful not to over knead, otherwise it will turn out though.

Shape the meat into a loaf and put it into the prepared pan. 

Mix up the glaze in a small bowl by whisking together the ketchup, brown sugar, and worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Brush 2/3 of the glaze over the meatloaf and reserve the other 1/3 for serving.

Bake in the 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Bake covered with aluminum foil or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.  Uncover it for the last 10 minutes of the cooking.

Slice in pieces of your desired thickness and serve preferably over mash potatoes. Drizzle over the remaining glaze. Enjoy!
